Interpreters

At Doctors on Riccarton, we are committed to providing a service which helps us to better communicate with you. We understand that for many of our patients, English is not the first language, or for some patients, you may have a disability which can make communication more difficult.

While it is helpful that you have a relative or friend who can help interpret, it is not advisable. We can access the services of our staff or external services. If you do have special needs, please let us know so we can work together to help you.

Languages spoken in our Practice

We have team members who can speak:

  • Mandarin (普通话)
  • Cantonese (粤语)
  • Taishanese (Toisan) (台山话)
  • Korean (한국어)
  • Tagalog

Other Languages

We can access interpreters by phone. However, sometimes we need to wait for an available interpreter. If you need an interpreter to be with you the whole time, we can pre-arrange for an interpreter to come in. This can take a few days.

Alternatively, you can contact Interpreting NZ.
